Meet Lead Troop Guide Jody Sellers

Our lead troop guide for Course S9-91-14’s Gilwell Troop 1 is Jody Sellers, who is the troop committee chair for Troop 128, chartered by the Smiths Station Ruritan Club, in Muskogee District. As the lead troop guide, she will mentor other Troop 1 troop guides as they mentor their patrols, facilitate some patrol activities, and assist patrol members as they prepare and complete their Wood Badge tickets.

Jody has been an adult volunteer for eight years, having begun her Scouting service as a Webelos den leader, and upon crossing over to Boy Scouting, became an assistant scoutmaster before serving in her current role as troop committee chair. She has also served as Muskogee District’s popcorn chair and staffed National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) in 2009 as assistant scoutmaster for program.

An Antelope from Chattahoochee Council Wood Badge Course SR-942 (2009), Jody is a three-time Wood Badge staffer. She first served as a troop guide for SR-1078 (2010), and then as assistant senior patrol leader for S9-91-12 (2012) before her current duties as lead troop guide.

Professionally, Jody serves as a supervisor in the Criminal Division of the Russell County Circuit Clerk's Office, where she has been employed for 24 years. She has two adult children as well as guardianship of her great niece and nephew.
