Getting into a routine

The staff of Wood Badge Course S9-91-14 held its first full-day staff development meeting on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Fort Bradshaw on the campus of Camp Frank G. Lumpkin. In addition to learning more about their position responsibilities, staff members began walking through the various schedules, presentations and activities that will comprise the two, three-day course weekends in March and April 2014.

S9-91-14 Assistant Scoutmaster Andrew Baird previews for the
course staff one of the course presentations.

Every course activity and game is
staff-tested and troop guide-approved!

Staff members conducted a dry-run of several course presentations addressing topics such as establishing a personal and Scouting mission and vision, communicating well, and leading and teaching by the EDGE method. Staff members fine-tuned their singing voices and enjoyed the first of many sumptuous course meals prepared by the Quartermaster Staff.

Course Assistant Quartermasters Keith Geiger and Jennifer Abbey
polish their hospitality and food-service skills!

To date, the course has eight registrants after opening registration only a couple of weeks ago. Those wishing to learn more about the course can visit the course website, course Facebook page or speak with any member of the course staff. The course website features a downloadable course flyer/registration form and a link for online registration. A discounted early-bird registration fee of $210 is in effect through Dec. 16.
