Meet Assistant Scribe Scott Hampton

Joining the Gilwell Troop 1 program staff is assistant scribe Scott Hampton, who also currently serves as a unit commissioner in the George H. Lanier District.

Scott has accumulated eight years of adult leader experience, including seven years of service to Pack 111 (which later converted to Pack 400 to align with its sister troop, Troop 400) during his tenure. His pack-level service included Tiger Cub coach; Wolf, Bear and Webelos den leader; and cubmaster. He later served one year as scoutmaster of Troop 400. He has received several awards related to his Cub Scout service and training, and was named Scouter of the Year in 2002 by the then Trailblazer District.

An Eagle Patrol member during Chattahoochee Council’s Wood Badge Course SR-464 in 2002, Scott has previously served on the kitchen staff during Course SR-668. He has staffed a variety of outdoor training courses and directed a past Trainers’ Development Conference.

Professionally, Scott is a network analyst with St. Francis Hospital in Columbus. Together, he and his wife Tracy have four sons and one daughter ranging from 13 to 22. His sons Thomas, Matthew and David all started in Tiger Cubs and progressed from Cub Scouting to Boy Scouting.
