Course council strip, apparel designs revealed

Chattahoochee Council is just a week or so away from receiving its council strip patches for the upcoming Wood Badge Course S9-91-14. Three variations of the council strip exist to denote course participants, course staffers, and Venture Scouts supporting the course.

The council strip patch features the likeness of Scouting and Wood Badge founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell, and the familiar Wood Badge ax and log. The patch also includes the initials "CB" in honor of Charlie Bausch, a long-time Chattahoochee Council Wood Badger who passed away in 2013. Course Director Tom Lytle chose to memorialize Bausch, who served as his mentor over the years, in this special way.

Course participants will also receive two course T-shirts and a course hat — all bearing the image to the right, with the exception of the word "staff." T-shirts and hats will be provided to course participants upon their arrival at camp the first course weekend. Efforts to distribute council strip patches through staff or by mail will be made prior to the first course weekend so participants can sew these on their uniforms.
